kiddie cigarette commercial

This is an animated commercial for Kent cigarettes that seems to appeal to kids more-so than adults.

Why dig up a nearly fifty-year old commercial and try to pawn it off as something sinister that is relevant right now?

I saw hundreds of these commercials when I was a kid, and do not smoke now. Many companies used animation because it was a cheap and effective tool versus paying for celebrity endorsements. Every time someone uses animation to sell something does not mean they are aiming their ads at kids.

Does everything tobacco companies do – or ever did – have to be cast in such a sinister manner? It was a different time, and we know much more now than we did then.

You people need to get over yourselves – in a hurry.
